Summit Names Bar Louie Concept’s Passport Drink Menu Best

GLENVIEW, IL (May 20, 2010) - Bar Louie America announced today that its “Louie’s Travel Passport” cocktail menu has won the GOLD AWARD in the 2010 Summit Creative Award competition! Among thousands of submissions from 24 countries, the creative for this menu scored the best among the very best.

Over the past 16 years, The Summit International Awards organization has established itself as one of the premier arbiters of creative excellence. This year’s international panel of judges included professionals from Ogilvy B2; Saatchi&Saatchi; Stellar Debris; MCN Interpublic Group; Pixel & Co. Creative Marketing; Paragon Marketing Communications; CMI Web Studio; e-cubed.com Media Synthesis Inc; and MFX, Inc.

The “Louie’s Travel passport” menu launched in October of 2009 and is a complete overhaul of the Bar Louie’s regular cocktail menu. The Passport, developed with Patrick Henry Creative Promotions, features 12 drinks that range from $7 to $10 depending on the location.

The Passport cocktails are more cutting edge and playful, encouraging customers to try take a journey around the globe by trying different cocktails inspired by different countries. Cocktails include the Asian Ginger Peach, which uses the flavors of ginger, elderflower and peach, with egg whites and the Boomerang Lemonade made with Midori Melon, Skyy, St Germain Elderflower liqueur and lemonade.

The menu is full-color with a passport theme and features a photo of each drink along with the ingredients and witty destination notes.

In addition, customers are encouraged to get their passports stamped from each country when they order the appropriate drink and once completed can send in their passports to Bar Louie’s corporate headquarters to receive a souvenir packs full of promotional items.

At the conclusion of the three month program, Bar Louie’s around the country had sold over 100,000 cocktails from the passport!
